A self-taught, intuitive artist, Shefali delves into various creative processes. Shefali navigates her life experiences and weaves them into her art. Being fortunate enough to call many places home and travelling extensively gives her the opportunity to explore all those landscapes in their many shades of green. Using her paints and words to capture her experiences, she visualizes ongoing internal metamorphosis in abstracts or through the beauty of nature. Experience comes first then interpretation and expression. She draws on all these stimuli to create pieces that are quite evocative. Additions of gold-leaf, copper-leaf, glass beads, pumice and other mediums add texture and develop heightened realism. Flowers, real and imaginary, add exuberance to her painted environments with blended backgrounds and colors to reflect moods.
